In his acceptance speech, Garba Mohammed said his turbaning would challenge him and the others to do more in their efforts to bring pipe borne water, stable electricity supply and good road network to the community with a view to improving the lives of members of the community.
“While expressing gratitude to the Zazzau Emirate for selecting me as the Dallatun Kinkinauo GRA in Ungwan Muazu district, I will like to dedicate it to my colleagues in the journalism profession and indeed all well wishers.
The community found me and 10 others worthy as a result of our immense contributions to the development of the area, carved out of the historical Kinkinau community, especially in our drive to reduce the frequent armed robbery attacks in the area.
We are in the era of providing empowerment to the teaming unemployed youths in the community. We are also appealling to government to assist us in establishing a Police Divisional Office that will cover Kinkinau and Ungwan Muazu areas as well as complete the water project initiated few years ago,” he said.
He said, to whom a lot is given, a lot is expected. Therefore, he and others assured the community and indeed, the district head of Umuazu, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Idris, Chikasauron Zazzau and indeed the Emir of Zazzau, that they would continue to attract development to the area. “This goes to show that the community members are gradually becoming ‘watchdogs’ and are appreciating the contributions of the media in nation building with my turbaning today,” he said.
The Village Head of Kinkinau, after turbaning the 10 Dallatu’s, charged them to use the authority given to them by their title judiciously and should not discriminate among their people.
“Ensure that the title given to you does not get into your head because it will make you take drastic decision that you will live to regret. You should know that a big burden rests on your shoulder and it is your responsibilities to ensure that your office does not go astray,” he said.
He called on youths to be better ambassadors of the community and the country at large saying “you are the leaders of tomorrow and one day it will be your turn to take charge of the mantle of leadership which you have to start preparing for right from now.”
Sunday Trust witnessed the turbaning of nine other individuals as Dallatu on that day.  Our correspondent reports that as early as 9am, people started trooping into Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Kinkinau  in Ungwan Ma’azu venue of the turbaning ceremony to witness the event.
The colourful event, which had in attendance traditional and religious leaders from within and outside Kaduna State, was  entertained by men on horse while the local comedian amused the people with their play and songs.  
The chairman, National Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Chapter, Yusuf Idris, described Garba as a seasoned Journalist and a very hardworking person, saying that was why his community decided to recognize him with a traditional title.
He said “Garba is hard working and very committed to his job. We are happy today he is being recognized by his community. This shows his people are happy with his contribution to the community.”  He added that there is the need for people to always see journalists as agent of change by recognizing their contributions.
On his part, the State Governor’s Media and Publicity Director General, Ahmed Maiyaki, in a short interview with newsmen shortly after the event congratulated the new Dallatun Kinkinau over his coronation and called on other journalists to always be objective in the discharge of their duties.
