Dazzling Mirage, Invasion 1897, others to feature in Green Me film festival

Some Nigerian films including Tunde Kilani’s Dazzling Mirage, Lancelot Imasuen’s Invasion 1987, Dagogo Jack’s Stigma, among others have been selected to participate in the  Green Me Global Festival for Sustainability which begins today.
The movies will be contending for the ‘Life’ category, while Jeta Amata’s Black November, Oloibiri of Rightangle Productions and two documentaries The lady in the water and Nowhere to run by 37th State and Yar’Adua Foundation respectively, would be contesting for the ‘Water’ category.
Screened out of the competition is a BBC drama on oil pollution in the Niger-Delta, Blood and Oil, as well as ‎a documentary on renewable energy, Green Energy for the Giant of Africa by Damon van Linde.
The festival is an annual ecological/environmental film festival which was first initiated as a lounge in 2008 before transforming into a film festival.
According to Nicholai Niemmann, President and Founder of the festival, the annual event had grown from a national festival into an international fiesta, giving room for movies from different categories to contest for awards in prize money.
“…The festival honours the green film genre filmmakers and awards the Green award.  5,000 Euros award money is channelled to the green film genre.
“We are overjoyed to have received the financial support by the German ministry of foreign affairs, to take this important step of expanding to a new continent. Green Me’s spirit has been well received wholeheartedly by our Nigerian film partners and their official counterparts,” Niemann said.
