I read your rejoinder on Engr. Abubakar Fari’s well researched and well presented essay about the raging debate on the quest for cessation from Nigeria by some elements in the south east, the call for the restructuring of the country by others and the quit notice on Igbos by some concerned Arewa youths. 

All through the rejoinder, Afam, you dwelt on casting aspersion on Fari for attempting to look at the two sides of the coin on the national debate. Finally Afam tried to ridicule Fari for not meeting up to his expectations on the spoken English language. On this, Afam reminded me of Uncle Tom, the domestic slave in the best seller novel by Heriatte Fleisher if I recall her name well. The domestic slave, always despises the plantation slave especially when he could not speak well the slave masters language, the English language. 

I tell you, Afam, Fari’s write up contains more substance than your funny rejoinder, he succeeded in enriching the debate on Nigeria’s future in a pragmatic manner. After all, for how long can the country be held hostage by protagonist of breaking away and forming their own country. We must move ahead, if that’s the only solution to giving the ordinary man who lives in constant drudgery whatever his faith or ethnic background, so be it. This is the point made by Egr Abubakar Fari and I concur with him.
