The Founder of Nigas Rehabilitation and Skills Acquisition Training Centre in Rigasa, a suburb of Kaduna State, Malam Lawal Y. Maduru, has called on the federal government to declare total war against drug abuse in the country.
Speaking during the parents’ association meeting of at the centre, he said, the future of Nigerian youths will remain bleak if government fails to control the flow of illegal drugs into the country.
“Our centre for rehabilitation is doing its best to rehabilitate the youths that are addicted to drugs after which we train them on various skills . This is the only thing we can do to save their lives but we believe parents and government have greater roles to play in curtailing the engagement of youths in drug abuse in our communities and country,” he said.
In a related development, the Interim Chairman of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Dr. Ibrahim Yushe’u, has said his administration will collaborate with traditional rulers in Rigasa to bring to an end activities of gangsters in the area.
