The myriad of challenges facing Nigeria have been attributed to the decline in the nation’s educational system.
Speaking at the launch of a book titled, ‘Education and Sustainable Development in 21st Century Nigeria,’ in Abuja yesterday, the author, Professor Benedicta Egbo said most of the challenges facing Nigeria could not be disassociated from the decline of its education system.
She said for Nigeria to make any meaningful progress, the nation’s education system must not only be inclusive and forward-looking, it must also strive towards remaining relevant, especially within the context of a globalised 21st world.
Professor Egbo said that changing Nigeria’s education requires adopting a multi-pronged approach that was grounded in sound educational policies.
She said: “The book examines and provides strategic and practical solutions for addressing the challenges facing the Nigerian education system.
