Apex sociocultural youth groups known as Ethnic Youth Leaders have said Hon. Dumnamene Dekor is not the leader of Rivers State Caucus in the House of Representatives but Hon. Dagomie Abiante.

The clarification was in reaction to a statement by Dekor who in the statement claimed to be leader of Rivers reps Caucus and warning Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere to desist from what he described as misleading press briefings on the ongoing disagreement between the governor of Rivers State, Similanayi Fubara, and the House of Assembly, and latterly, former Local Government Chairmen.

The ethnic youth leaders in a statement signed by Director South South Region Comrade Hart Israel urged the leadership of the House of Representatives to suspend Dekor for impersonation, claiming a position that was not his.

The group appealed to Hon. Ugochinyere not to dignify Dekor with a response, saying that his rantings are just weak effort to please Wike.

The group said, “We are calling on the leadership of the House of Representatives to suspend Dekor for impersonation, claiming a position that isn’t his. Dekor in a statement yesterday claimed to be leader of Rivers State reps Caucus and warned Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere to desist from what he described as misleading press briefings on the ongoing disagreement between the governor of Rivers State, Similanayi Fubara and the House of Assembly, and latterly, former Local Government Chairmen.

“It’s actually laughable first of that Hon. Dekor lied about a meeting that never held. He should be ashamed highlighting that Ugochinyere is not from Rivers State. Is he not ashamed that another citizen is doing a job he’s supposed to be doing to end the crisis in his state. Dekor’s statement is outright false, mischievous, malicious and undeserving of a member of the House of Representatives. We urge Hon. Ugochinyere not to dignify Dekor with a response as he’s only trying to please his master.”
