The Chairman of Ethiope West LGA of Delta State, Oghenedoro Owoso, has in collaboration with security operatives, rescued the kidnapped head teacher of a primary school in the Jesse area.
City & Crime reports that Owoso was said to have joined the security operatives in a chase to rescue the kidnapped teacher.
Owoso said that as a result of the chase, the kidnappers abandoned the teacher tied in an uncompleted building after taking his phone and ATM cards.
The council boss, who spoke to newsmen, said he mobilised the security personnel to the school after receiving a distress call that the head teacher had been kidnapped.

He said the kidnappers had already taken away the teacher before he arrived at the school with the security operatives.
He further said, “When we arrived at the school, the kidnappers were already taking away the victim in his car. There was an exchange of gunfire.”
He said the seriousness of the gunshots made the kidnappers to run into the bush and that in their determination the rescue team entered the bush to rescue the victim.
He said, “At some point, we found the victim’s car. When the kidnappers knew we were close by, they abandoned the vehicle.
“We continued with the search until we found the victim tied in an uncompleted building, abandoned by the kidnappers, after taking his phone and ATM cards.”
He noted that he had discussed with the Commissioner of Police in the state for more security personnel to be posted to the area.
