Operatives of the Delta State police command have arrested two suspected cultists in connection with a planned attack.
According to the state police commissioner, Abaniwonda Olufemi, the arrests were made based on credible intelligence.
He said command received a tip about an imminent attack on students taking their final exams at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Ukwu.
In response, officers were deployed to the area to prevent the attack. They arrested Favour Osafile (23) and Ifeainachi Emmanuel (23), who were found with two handbags containing six cut-to-size guns and eight live cartridges.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to being members of the Black Axe Confraternity.
