The police in Delta State have arrested 80 suspects in the month of August for various crimes including armed robbery, cultism, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
According to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi, one of the suspects was an ex-convict who was arrested for robbery just five days after being released from a correctional center where he had completed his jail term.
He said during the operations, the command recovered 31 firearms, 86 assorted ammunition and cartridges, and 50 laptops and mobile phones.
The commissioner stated that the command will continue to pursue criminals in the state and ensure they are brought to justice.
He also urged residents to report any suspicious individuals or movements to the nearest police station to help prevent crime and make the state safe for everyone.
