The Delta State Police Command has charged 455 suspects to court for various offences between January and April 2026, the Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, has said.
He disclosed this during a quarterly briefing in Asaba on the command’s achievements in combating crime across the state.
According to him, 205 of the cases have been successfully prosecuted, resulting in convictions, while 250 cases are still ongoing in courts.
Oyeniyi noted that the prosecutions are aimed at deterring criminal activities and strengthening law enforcement efforts in the state.
He warned that the command under his leadership would remain resolute in tackling crime and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
