The Delta State Police Command has impounded 26 vehicles for operating without registration number plates or with concealed, altered, defaced and unreadable number plates in the state.
Daily Trust reports that the State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, led the enforcement operation in Asaba and its environs.
Oyeniyi said the enforcement was part of efforts to strengthen public safety, improve vehicle identification, and enhance crime prevention across the state.
According to him, the arrested motorists were subsequently arraigned before a Mobile Court sitting in Asaba for the relevant offences.

Oyeniyi urged vehicle owners and motorists to comply with vehicle registration requirements and ensure the proper display of approved number plates.
He stressed that the enforcement exercise is aimed at enhancing security, promoting accountability, and preventing the use of unregistered vehicles for criminal activities.
He, however, warned that the operation would be sustained across the State.
