It would be recalled that Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, has reportedly accused the state government of planning to convert the school into a mall.
In a reaction, the Commissioner for Education Prof. Solomon Olaniyonu in a statement said contrary to the allegation, the school was among the six schools earmarked for conversion into model schools.
The statement said some structures in the school were destroyed to pave way for the construction of those that would make it a truly model school.
He added that on completion, the school would have facilities such as clinics, administrative block, laboratories for science subjects, adding: “Indeed, we want to ensure that the integrated science and the workshop for the newly introduced entrepreneurial subjects are well furnished.”
