The 80th Passing out Parade of the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria where Chief of Army Staff Lt-Gen Ibrahim Attahiru was billed to attend has been cancelled after he died in a plane crash on Friday.
Attahiru was billed to be the Reviewing Officer at the PoP in Zaria on Saturday, Daily Trust has learnt.

But he alongside 10 others died when their military plane crashed on Friday at the Kaduna International Airport.
“The COAS was to arrive in Kaduna on Friday and sleep over at his guest house. He was then expected to pay homage to the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali on Saturday before proceeding to the depot for the PoP,” a source said.
However, a source within the depot who pleaded anonymity said, “Everything has been put on hold till the remains of the deceased are laid to rest.”
Daily Trust reports that 4,198 recruits passed out at the 79th edition of the recruit intake in July, 2020.
