Head Coach, Emmanuel Deutsch, has declared that Enyimba FC will not be relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) despite their recent struggles in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Sunday’s 0–2 defeat to Kano Pillars left the “People’s Elephants” 16th on the table, with only a goal difference separating the nine-time champions from the relegation zone.

The loss marked Enyimba’s 13th of a disappointing campaign for the two-time African champions.

Speaking after the match, Deutsch admitted the difficulty of the encounter but insisted the team would fight its way to safety.

“It was a tough match,” he noted. “We played against a dangerous team, because both of us are in the danger zone.

“I think the home team has a reason to win their match. We are both in the relegation zone – in a very dangerous zone. They have the advantage and they won the match. There’s nothing to argue about.

On helping the club avoid relegation, he said: “The plan is for Enyimba to maintain their place in the NPFL. I’m very optimistic about it.”

Enyimba’s struggles this season have been compounded by instability off the pitch.

A series of administrative disruptions and frequent managerial changes have unsettled the club’s structure.

Under Chairman Kanu Nwankwo, the club has witnessed multiple coaching transitions, following the exits of Finidi George and Yemi Olarewaju.

Subsequent appointments, including Stanley Eguma and Deji Ayeni, failed to halt the downward spiral, leaving the team battling for survival.
