Devt plans: We won’t succumb to saboteurs – Zulum

Borno State Governor, Professor Bababgana Zulum

The Borno Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has said that his government will not succumb to any threats or sabotage towards the realization of its 25-year development and 10-year strategic transformation initiatives.

The governor said the programmes were in overall interest of the people.

He maintained that that the proposed development plan is all-inclusive with strategic vision and mission for proper implementation by all the local, national and international stakeholders including the over 192 NGOs operating in the state.

Zulum urged investors to invest in the abundant resources available for the progress and development of the state, citing other developing countries that were faced with crisis but after a decade or two became transformed and developed.

“As such, Borno will recover its lost glory and become one of the best states in the country and Africa despite the insurgency.

“As you have heard, the plan before you today has been preceded by a thorough analysis that tried to evaluate our strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT),” he said.

Reacting to the development, the Borno State Chairman of CSOs, Ambassador Ahmed Shehu, said it was a right step in the right direction if all the provisions were implemented to the latter.

He urged all stakeholders to key into the initiatives.

“It is a good development because all these years, unlike other states, Borno state doesn’t have any guiding document,” Shehu said.

A public affairs analyst, Abubakar Kareto Mohammed, said no matter how long it will take; the vision should be encouraged to succeed.
