The challenge, according to both companies, is designed to provide an engaging avenue for students to prepare for secondary school certification examinations by giving prep questions that act as refreshers for the students in a bit to boost their preparations for the exams. Speaking on the initiative, Head, Corporate Communications, Diamond Bank Plc, Mrs. Ayona Trimnell, said the bank is making efforts to ensure the youth segment of the society is empowered not just financially but also academically.
According to her, statistics have shown that about 70per cent of Nigeria youths who sit for national school leaving examinations such as SSCE, GCE, NECO and JAMB fail annually. She said one platform that the youths are interested in today is mobile which can be used positively to better their lots saying that it is view of this that Diamond banks as part of its commitment towards advancing educational development and encouragement of academic excellence decided to partner with Gidi Mobile to launch this prep contest.
