Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson yesterday signed into law a bill prohibiting any government in power in the state from abandoning any project inherited or executed by him, where state funds are invested into.

The bill is “Public Service Records and Documentation Centre Law 2018” and passed by the state House of Assembly last month.

It will be an impeachable offense for government in power to abandon any project where state funds are used.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Francis Ottah-Agbo, listed nine other bills signed into law by the governor.

They are Niger Delta University (Amendment) Bill, Media Corporation Bill, Directorate for Project Monitoring and Evaluation (Amendment) Bill and the Teaching of Indigenous Language Bill.

Others are, Heritage Control, Biodiversity and Archaeological Sites Preservation Bill, Polytechnic (Amendment) Bill, Special Matters Court (Education) Bill, Community Safety Corps Bill and Registration of Neighbourhood Watch Bill.
