After he was announced as being part of Marvel’s Black Panther movie, actor Sterling K. Brown (‘The People Vs. OJ Simpson’) spoke to The Undefeated, thrilled at the prospect of not only being in a major superhero movie, but also getting to work with a star-studded cast led by director Ryan Coogler. Raving about the stellar cast that has thus far been assembled for the upcoming feature, he seemingly – and inadvertently – confirmed the addition of actress Phylicia Rashad.

Brown gushed: “I just worked with Chad[wick Boseman] on a film called ‘Marshall,’ about Thurgood Marshall. He’s such a talented human being and a deep soul. He’s the perfect personality to fully inhabit T’Challa. So, to rejoin him, and to work with Academy Award winners… to be with Michael B. Jordan after the incredible work he’s done in ‘Creed.’ Danai Gurira, Phylicia Rashad, Forest Whitaker – like, it’s embarrassing.”

Rashad has not been formally announced by Marvel Studios as being part of the cast, and is the second cast member from ‘Creed’ to reteam with Coogler for the upcoming film. For now though, as it has not been confirmed by Marvel, it is impossible to know just who Rashad is playing.

After the news of Rashad’s involvement spread, the story at The Undefeated was edited to remove the sterling thespian’s name. Internet chatter is already buzzing that she most likely will play T’Challa’s mother.

Black Panther, starring Chadwick Boseman in the titular role, will also have on board Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan. It is set to be released on February 16th, 2018.
