Recently, a second republic lawmaker Dr Junaidu Muhammad made similar utterance, that “there would be bloodshed if President Jonathan contested the 2015 Presidential elections”.
But Junaidu was arrested at his residence in Kano and ferried to Abuja for questioning by our security agents. Although I am not in any way in support of Dr Junaidu’s unguarded utterance, I even condemned it and called on him to think before he speaks, but, why arrest Dr Junaidu, while, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari who made the same ‘bloodshed threat’ several times on different occasions is walking freely around the country? Why the same offence, but, different treatment? Dokubo should have been arrested since the very day he made those incendiary remarks.
Now, that Dr Junaidu have been arrested and quizzed after his ‘blood would flow comments’, we are waiting to see our security agents arresting Dokubo for the same offence and be treated the same way as Junaidu.
Our leaders in the north should watch their tongues; they should stop speaking like militants.
