Di’ja, Bovi, Papy Luwe, others thrill at Laffta Fest

Music sensation, Hadiza Blell, aka Di’Ja, stand-up comedian Bovi and veteran comedian, of the 80s television series, ‘Ojo Ladipo Show,’ Pappy Luwe (Sunday Omobolanle), were among celebrities who thrilled guests last Sunday at the Ijebu Ode outing of the Glo Lafta Fest.
The event which held at De Prime event centre, drew fans of the show and artistes who were excited that organisers, Globacom, had brought the fest to the city less than two months after it held its music concert, Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce, in the same town.
A release from the company quoted, a hair salon operator, Funmilayo Ojo, and Tunde Braima, a secondary school leaver, as describing the show as highly memorable and an evening of fun, dance and laughter while commending Globacom for “rewarding its subscribers with such a fantastic show.”
Before it started, the last episode of Glo-sponsored ‘Dance with Peter,’ Africa’s biggest dance reality TV show was screened to the delight of the audience. They screamed and clapped enthusiastically to appreciate the intricate dance steps of the contestants.
Papy Luwe and comedy act, Bolaji Johnson Amusan, aka Mr Latin, performed a drama sketch on the highhandedness of landlords who maltreat their tenants. There were performances by other top comedians such as D Don, Still Ringing, Bash, Acapella and Seyi Law, who ensured guests and subscribers had a fun-filled time.
The appearance of Di’Ja on stage was hugely applauded by the audience who joined her in singing the lyrics of her songs with enthusiasm. Fuji king, Saheed Osupa, raised the tempo of the show with the full accompaniment of his band to entertain the guests and draw the curtains on the six-hour-long show.
