Leaders of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs have met in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to strengthen peace in the Niger Delta region.
The leaders also agreed to explore a different approach to speed up the development of the region by collaborating in the execution of common projects and programmes.

PAP’s interim administrator, Col Milland Dixon Dikio (retd), Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the interim administrator, NDDC, Effiong Akwa presided over the closed-door meeting with ex-militant leaders at the palace of the King of Okichiri, King Ateke Tom.
Among notable ex-agitators at the meeting were King Ateke Tom, Ebikabowei Victor Ben, popularly called Boyloaf, and Bibopre Ajube, also known as Shoot-at-sight.
First class traditional rulers from Rivers and other parts of the Niger Delta region also attended the meeting and resolved to maintain peace in the region.
