A dismissed police inspector has been arraigned before a Kano High Court No 22 over the killing of a driver.
Inspector Isyaku was dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force following an orderly room trial after he allegedly gunned down a driver, Isyaku Ya’u, at KwanarDangora in April, 2021, which also precipitated a demonstration by people in the area.
After six months in a police cell, he was arraigned before a magistrates’ court which for lack of jurisdiction remanded him until his present arraignment.
State counsel, Barr Lamido Abba S/Dinki, charged the suspect with homicide and in view of the gravity of the offence objected to a bail application by his counsel Barr Najib Hamisu.
