The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a dismissed soldier, Aliyu Adamu, on charges of impersonation, cheating, misappropriation and breach of trust.
The command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Muhammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement, said, “This arrest followed complaints from three individuals who reported that L/Cpl Aliyu Adamu collected a total sum of N200,000 from them, promising to secure enlistment for them in the Nigerian Army. However, they were not invited to the Nigerian Army Depot for training as promised.”

Wakil said that the suspect admitted to having been dismissed as a lance corporal from the army a few months ago for being Absent Without Leave (AWOL) for a year, and that used the money collected from the victims for personal purposes.
