A tragic dispute between two friends in the Gunduwawa community of Gezawa Local Government Area, Kano State, has ended in a fatality, leaving one of them to stand trial for alleged murder.
The defendant, Isma’il Saleh, was arraigned before Magistrate Court No. 8, Nomansland, Kano, following a disagreement involving cannabis that reportedly escalated into fatal violence.
According to the prosecution, the altercation led to the defendant allegedly stabbing his friend with a pair of scissors, an act that resulted in the victim’s death.
During the proceedings, the state prosecuting counsel, Barrister Abdullahi Ibrahim Muhammad, requested an adjournment to allow for the formal reading of charges against the accused and to conclude necessary legal preparations.
Magistrate Hadiza Abdurrahman granted the request and ordered that the accused be remanded in custody.
The matter was adjourned until April 20, 2026, for mention.
