Suleiman had been the district head of Eika since 1989. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites in his hometown of Obangede. He is survived by four wives, several children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Among his children are Mallam Abubakar (Tailor) Suleiman, a business tycoon; Mallam Abdurrahman Maji of FCE, Okene and his nephew, Alhaji Abdurrahman Alkali Bello of NDIC, Abuja.
