Secretary of CMN, FCT Chapter, Malam Isa Rani, gave the advice in Abuja while speaking with Daily Trust on the state of the nation.
He said: “CMN as an incorporated religious NGO came into existence as a result of the realisation by some concerned people that no government, no matter how resourceful, can deal with emerging social problems on its own without the active support and participation of individuals and organisations.”
He advised Muslims to endeavour to volunteer their time, knowledge and resources for the good of the society.
As part of its activities, he said that the CMN is engaged in the construction of earth dams, well, dispensaries and classroom blocks.
He added: “Although the CMN is esentially an Islamic religious organisation, it is blind when it comes to the question of who benefits from its projects and programmes. This is because Allah has made it incumbent on every Muslim to cater for the needs of all, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, especailly during emergencies.”
The organisation which has Dr. Ibrahim Ndagi Adamu as its chairman and Alhaji Abdullahi Ola Ehimony as secretary, also had branches across the country and in Ghana, Niger Republic, Burkina Faso and Benin Republic.
