Striking doctors of the Federal Tertiary Hospital, Ido Ekiti, yesterday vowed to continue with their strike, despite the intervention of traditional rulers in the state.
The traditional rulers, under the aegis of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, had on Friday last week held a meeting with the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Majekodunmi Ayodele and members of Association of Resident Doctors, where they appealed to the doctors to suspend their industrial action. 
The traditional rulers were led by the council’s Chairman and Ologotun of Ogotun, Oba  Samuel Oyebade. The delegation included, the Ajero of Ijero Ekiti, Oba Joseph, Adewole, Alara of Aramoko, Oba Olu Adeyemi and the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, Oba Idowu Faboro.
Part of the resolutions was that the doctors should call off the strike immediately, while all their demands would be met as the finances improve.
 Oba Adewole said the principal reason why they decided to mediate in the crisis was to avert unwarranted death and sufferings among the  masses. The monarch  urged the striking doctors to give the council the benefit of doubt and call off the strike.
