Documents falsification: Ndanusa cleared of all allegations

The investigative committee headed by Brigadier Emma Okaro in its report said contrary to allegation that Ndanusa was first elected 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) on 20th June, 2007, its investigation established that Engineer Sani Ndanusa was elected 1st Vice President of CAT in Pretoria, South Africa in April 2003 and was re-elected in the same capacity on 20th June, 2007
The Report also said that the panel during its investigation and enquiries established that article 29 : 1 of the NOC constitution on the electoral process required that the Executive Board of the NOC should appoint one trustee and two patrons to supervise the electoral process.
However the NOC Executive Committee violated this provision by constituting itself into a screening panel. By this, the Executive Committee of the NOC who were all candidates for the election also carried out the screening exercise.
On the issue of Engineer Sani Ndanusa‘s election as the President of Nigeria Tennis Federation, the report found that in spite of the fact that Ndanusa is the President of Nigeria Tennis Federation, he was unanimously returned by the electorate after he was duly documented but sought and obtained clearance from the Returning Officer as he had to attend to Federal Executive Council on that election day.
The report thus concluded that for the NOC to declare Ndanusa’s election as Tennis Federation president as null and void was indicative of “vindictiveness, injustice, unfairness and an action against the spirit of Olympism”.
The investigative therefore recommended that the NOC among others should make a public statement in the National media apologizing to Engineer Sani Mohammed Ndanusa for making false accusation against him and thereby putting him unfairly in disrepute; reverse the illegalities it has perpetrated against the person of Engineer Sani Ndanusa and ensure that his desire to participate in the NOC election for the position of President is not obstructed or truncated in any manner.
In addition, the committee recommended that Engineer Habu Gumel as President of NOC should write to CAT, ANOCA and IOC to state that he was misguided in his allegation against Engr. Sani Ndanusa and that there should be a re-evaluation and revalidation of the constituencies of the membership of the NOC to ensure that illegalities are not perpetuated in the future.
