Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the 8th National Assembly and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention as a landmark achievement that reflects the party’s unity, organizational discipline, and readiness to provide effective national leadership.

In his official statement, Dogara congratulated the newly elected national officers, noting that their emergence demonstrates the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and its capacity to renew itself. He highlighted the leadership qualities of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the new National Chairman, whose stabilizing presence he said will strengthen the party’s foundation, and Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary, whose organizational expertise will be critical in consolidating internal cohesion.

Dogara further commended the Convention leadership team, led by Hon. Aminu Masari and Sen. Pius Anyim, for their transparent and disciplined conduct of the exercise. He described their stewardship as “a benchmark for political conventions in Nigeria, underscoring the values of integrity and accountability.”
