Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Board of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), has urged Nigerians to step into 2026 with renewed hope, unity, and confidence in the nation’s future.

In his New Year goodwill message, Dogara commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for laying what he described as “solid foundations for growth and stability,” stressing that the year ahead holds promise for economic recovery and social progress.

Dogara highlighted reforms already underway, pointing to initiatives in security, infrastructure, agriculture, digital innovation, and social investment. He explained that institutions such as the NCGC will expand access to credit for small and medium enterprises, while ongoing investments in roads, rail, and power projects will connect communities and boost productivity.

He further noted that agricultural policies will strengthen food security, digital programs will equip young people for opportunities in technology, and social safety nets will provide relief for vulnerable households. According to him, these measures reflect the administration’s determination to build a Nigeria where prosperity is shared by all.

Dogara praised the government’s resilience in diversifying the economy and deepening democratic governance, describing these efforts as critical to securing a brighter future.

“As Nigerians, our strength lies in unity, perseverance, and faith in the promise of tomorrow,” Dogara said. “Let us embrace this New Year with optimism, knowing that together we can achieve greatness.”

He concluded by wishing Nigerians peace, progress, and prosperity in 2026, expressing hope that the year will bring blessings to every home.
