Lagos State Police have detained three dogs and their owner following the tragic death of a security guard at Pinnock Estate in Lekki’s Ilasan area.
The guard reportedly succumbed to severe injuries inflicted by the dogs on November 5, 2024.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident via his social media account, revealing that the dogs’ owner, identified as Salisu Mustapha, is now in police custody alongside the animals.
Detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba are investigating the matter, he added.

He said the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, has assured the public of a thorough investigation, pledging that justice will be served.
