Since the beginning of the season, the two clubs, Dolphins and Sunshine have been in hot pursuit of the league title with the Port-Harcourt club retaining the top position for most of the period until the recent drop.

Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday, the coach who expressed optimism that his club would win the league said at the moment, his team is tied on points with Sunshine Stars but has an outstanding game to play and result in the match will surely catapult Dolphins to the top of the table.

The coach said he is not disturbed by Sunshine Stars’ present position because his club has not hidden its intention to win the league title and will not give up until the league season comes to an end.

Eguma noted that even as Sunshine has proved to be a formidable opponent but it will not beat his club to the title.

“If you look at the league table very well, you will realize that we are still on top of the table. At the moment, we have tied with Sunshine on points but we have an outstanding game in hand. By the time we play and win that match, we would climb back to the top.

“I am not worried because I know very well that by the end of the season we would be champions. Right from the beginning of the season, we have been on top and this is a sign of our ability to win the league”.

Eguma also said his present position as Dream Team’s assistant coach will not hurt his club’s title ambition.

According to him, he has since laid a solid foundation for the team’s technical crew and even in his absence; his assistants know exactly what is expected of them.

The coach said his assistants are doing well and nobody should think his national assignment will have adverse effect on Dolphins.

“I want to tell you that my being on national assignment with the Dream Team V will not impact negatively on Dolphins. I have laid a solid foundation for my assistants. They know what to do even when I am not around.

“They have been doing very well and I want to give kudos to them”, he stated.
