The police command in Anambra State says its operatives have detained a suspect for absconding with his employer’s vehicle in the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement issued in Onitsha and made available to newsmen on Monday.
According to him, police operatives attached to the 3-3 police station, acting on intelligence-driven investigation, arrested and detained the suspect at Ugbeji – Okpanam, near Asaba in Delta State.
“The suspect is a domestic worker, who allegedly stole a black Toyota Camry with Reg No: ENU 289 JF belonging to his employer at Trinity Avenue, Federal Housing in 3-3 in Onitsha,” he said.

He revealed that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to have sold the car to a yet-to-be identified person.
Ikenga said the operatives were working on the information received from the suspect for possible recovery of the vehicle and arrest of other persons involved in the alleged criminal act.
He noted that his arrest and detention highlighted the command’s ability to track down and bring to justice individuals who breached trust and committed crimes. (NAN)
