Domesticate criminal justice law, NBA tells Nasarawa govt

The Nasarawa state branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has called on the state government to expedite action on the domestication of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) as a law.

The association made the call yesterday in Lafia during their 2017 Bar Week lecture, saying that domesticating the law would ease the dispensation of justice.

Speaking at the event, the chairman, Magistrates Association of Nigeria Nasarawa state chapter, Victor Manga,   said the criminal justice sector needed to be fully funded.

On his part, Dr Hassan  M.Liman (SAN) also canvassed more funding, saying the courts were in a deplorable state and needed rehabilitation.

Earlier in his remark, NBA chairman in the state,  Barrister Ishaka Dikko ,said the Bar week for 2017 was meant to discuss the way forward for the judiciary.
