Liverpool and Bayern Munich produced dominant wins at home to secure drama-free passage into the UEFA Champions League quarter finals stage.

Liverpool scored thrice in the second half to win 4-0 on the night and send Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray crashing out 4-1 on aggregate, while Bayern Munich’s 4-1 victory over Atalanta completed a clean sweep over the Italians in a 10-2 aggregate victory.
Liverpool were in the mood at Anfield and took the lead on 25 minutes through a well-worked corner kick routine finished by Dominik Szoboszlai’s first-time strike to cancel Galatasaray’s first leg advantage.

Hugo Ekitike and Ryan Gravenberch added two quick-fire goals in the 52nd and 53rd minute, before Salah scored a landmark 50th UCL goal after the hour mark.

The Egyptian forward who had a first half penalty saved, curled into the top corner following a quick exchange of passes to seal the win. Arne Slot’s side are back in the quarter final for the first time since the 2021/22 season, and will face UCL champions PSG.

A three-goal first leg advantage sees Diego Simeone’s side qualify 7-5 on aggregate, and they will face Barcelona in an all-Spanish tie.
