Speaking at the inauguration of Unity Schools Old Students Association, University of Abuja branch, Evwierhoma said unity schools should vigorously pursue peace education. “It is not enough to have this in the curriculum, but our actions should show our children the way of peace.
“Building partnerships through education of young minds is crucial now. Trust in Nigeria is becoming erased in the lives of young people.
Our declarations about the Nigeria of the future should be the same in private and public. In this way peace can be built,” he said.
Earlier, the president of the association, Muhammad Garba, said the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA) University of Abuja chapter is committed to the pursuance, promotion and sustenance of tolerance, culture and tradition among students of the institution.
He said: “The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable and nothing should divide us as a people. We must put aside all other considerations and ensure that Nigeria pulls us together now so as to recover her sovereignty.”
Garba is a 300 level student of Economics at University of Abujaa
