Professor Yakubu Boyi Ngwai of the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) has said antibiotic resistance must be addressed by preventing the spread of antibiotic resistance genes.
He made the remarks at the 13th inaugural lecture of the university recently.
He said the spread of “antibiotic resistance genes through food, population and waste disposal are new forms of resistance that are emerging and are capable of increasing risk and influence of transmission of anti-resistance genes.”
