Don harps on skill acquisition as panacea to unemployment

The Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Professor Chinedum Babalola has reiterated the need to pay more attention to skill acquisition as solution to the nation’s problem of unemployment.

She charged the students to always engage themselves productively by learning and acquiring skills, particularly during holidays.

She said Chrisland University never witnessed any kind of industrial action and would continue to enjoy stable academic calendar and attendant high education standard.

“We also had recent huge success in the accreditation of nine programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC) after the programmes were presented last year for accreditation.”

Babalola said that the nine courses accredited by the commission include Accounting, Business Administration, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Microbiology, Economics, Criminology and Security Studies, Political Science and Psychology.

The VC lauded the Chancellor of the university, Mrs Winnifred Awosika, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Emeritus Professor Bayo Adekanye, council members, members of the Board of Trustees, principal officers, the school management, as well as staff and students for their immense contributions to the success of the exercise.
