The Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Joseph K. Shazin, has cautioned contractors not to compromise in the quality of work or project that will be awarded to them to execute in the area. 

Shazin, who stated this during the opening of tender documents for contractors at the secretariat conference hall, yesterday, said he would not hesitate to revoke any work he discovered to be substandard.

He said the electorate had confidence in electing him to  provide them viable projects that would better their lives, hence the contractors must live up to expectations.

He said the areas the council was going to give priority attention to were the construction/opening up of rural roads, sinking of boreholes and construction of box culverts.

According to him, the renovation of the council’s legislative arm was not captured in the 2017 budget, but that it would be awarded next year in order to give the tier’s offices a facelift.

The chairman assured the contractors that despite the challenges of funds, his administration would ensure that every contractor that completed his work at the stipulated time was paid his money.

“So I want to assure the contractors here that any of you who finished his work at the stipulated time shall receive his payment. But I will not accept any substandard work as we will not hesitate to revoke any job we discover to have been poorly executed,” he said.
