Professor Emeritus Nduka told reporters in Port Harcourt yesterday that his foundation, which was founded in 2006, is geared towards revitalising the moral fibre of all segments of the Nigerian society by disseminating and inculcating positive values and attitudes on Nigerians.
He stated that the group intended to educate and remind all Nigerians about what the law expects of both the voters and officials during the elections, stressing that his organisation plans to continue the campaign until after the March 28 presidential elections.
The professor, who recalled the challenges Nigeria went through during the military era, stated that people would not want to go back to such dark days, adding that the 2015 general elections would be litmus test for Nigeria’s democracy and the leadership role the country plays in Africa.
“This foundation urges all the agencies and voters involved in the 2015 general elections to eschew violence, maintain law and order to ensure free fair and credible elections.
“So it behoves on all of us, especially the press to send this message across; that it is in the best interest of this country for these elections to be held in a free and peaceful atmosphere. There have been a lot of rigging in past elections. Anybody who denies it in this country is not yet born,” he said.
