Governors who are members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rose from their meeting in Abuja yesterday with a call on the Supreme Court to make sure that the country’s jurisprudence is not distorted.

The governors said the call has become imperative in view of concerns that while the Supreme Court has laid down precedents on pre-election issues, PDP candidates in Plateau State are being disqualified on the same grounds.

Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed who read the communique of the meeting yesterday in Abuja, said the governors will reposition the party and make it a viable opposition in the country.

The governors also asked the federal government to stabilise the Naira, control inflation, stem the unemployment crises and address the hardship in the country.

On the impeachment crisis in Rivers State, the governors said they were happy with the intervention of President Bola Tinubu, adding that parties to the crisis welcomed the intervention and it will be resolved amicably.
