There have been conflicting reports about the cause of her death with her manager debunking earlier reports that the singer was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia.
It would be recalled that the ‘Kokoroko’ crooner had collapsed in a Chicago-bound flight, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles, from where she was rushed to the hospital
A close family source had revealed that she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia or pregnancy induced high blood pressure.
Doctors at the time revealed that her chances of recovery were slim, and Nigerians were urged to pray for a miracle.
However in a statement, the singer’s UK manager Adeline Adelicious Adebayo said, “It is with great sadness but grateful hearts, that we announce the passing to glory due to long failure this morning of our God’s mouthpiece, daughter, wife, sister and friend, Kefee Branama Queen….In contrast to all earlier rumours and stories in circulation, I do state that Kefee wasn’t 6 months pregnant neither did she have pre-eclampsia.”
Since news of her death on Friday broke, the social media has been buzzing with condolences to her husband Teddy Don Momoh and her family.
Meanwhile, reactions have continued to trail the singer’s death with her colleagues in the entertainment industry expressing their sadness over her death. One of them Sasha P tweeted via her handle @sashapofficial “Now you are looking at heaven. Teach us Lord to number our days, Rest in peace Kefee. God knows best”. Another gospel artiste Bouqui @Bouquiofficial had this to say, “RIP Kefee. You ran your race”.
The award-winning Delta-born songstress who started her music career at the age of 8 in her church choir has hit songs like ‘Branama’ and ‘Kokoroko’. She won best collaboration Headies Award in 2010. She got married to Star FM’s Teddy ‘Don Momoh in 2012 and just recently celebrated her wedding anniversary in May.
