Dr. Aaron Akpu Philip, a postdoctoral research fellow at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, has been honoured with an “Inclusive Mentorship and Community Impact Award” from the National Association of Nigerian Students in Diaspora (NANS-D).
The award recognizes his “selfless service, robust investments in student development, and exemplary leadership”.
NANS-D, which represents over 2.5 million Nigerian students abroad, is an organization dedicated to the welfare and interests of Nigerian students studying internationally.
The award was presented to Dr. Philip during the Nigerian Students in Diaspora and African Youths Global Leadership Summit on November 23, 2024. The event’s theme was “Enhancing the Socioeconomic Growth: The Role and Impact of Students and African Youth Leaders in Building a Dream Nation”.
In his acceptance, Dr. Philip stated, “I am deeply honoured and humbled to accept this prestigious award”. He added that “It is a privilege to be recognized by the National Association of Nigerian Students in Diaspora for my contributions to mentorship and community impact”.
He further shared that “The values of mentorship and community development are close to my heart, and seeing the positive impacts of such efforts recognized on a global platform is incredibly fulfilling”.
Although he was unable to attend the summit in South Africa, he sent his best wishes and noted that the occasion “celebrates individual achievements and underscores the importance of collective efforts in fostering growth and development within our communities”.
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to supporting and inspiring the next generation of leaders”.
