The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU ), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba has appointed Dr. Yusuf Aminu Ahmed as the Director of the Institution’s Centre for  Energy Research and Training (CERT).
DR. Ahmed’s appointment, according to the letter signed by the Vice Chancellor, is for the initial period of two years and is renewable for another period of two years after satisfactory performance.
Dr. Ahmed who hailed from Yola, Adamawa State, was born on 18th July, 1970 attended Toungo Primary School Yola, between 1977 and 1985, from where he proceeded to Government Secondary Yelwa in 1982 and finished in 1987.
In the year 1988, he proceeded to the Federal University of Technology, Yola where he bagged B. Tech Physics. He was admitted into the Ahmadu Bello University in 1993 where he obtained his M. Sc degree in Nuclear Reactor Physics in 2014.
The new CERT Director obtained his Ph.D in Nuclear Analytical Techniques from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria where he joined the Centre as Assistant Research Fellow in 2004 and rose to Research Fellow II in 2007. In 2011 he rose to the position of senior Research Fellow I, senior lecturer and Associate Professor in 2011, 2013 and 2014 respectively.
Dr. Ahmed has published several articles in local and international journals. He is married and blessed with children.
