The announcement came from the immediate past President of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Dr. Wale Okediran, during the association’s annual convention that took place in Minna, Niger State. He said that writers in the genres of prose, drama and poetry are eligible to participate.

Explaining further about the contest to our reporter, Dr. Bukar Usman said he decided to institute the contest in order to encourage and support Hausa literature that would enable budding Hausa writers to showcase their talent, enlighten and entertain the society, emphasizing that the contest is a means of producing qualitative books for the benefit of society.

The chairman of the foundation said that very soon the committee will reveal the modalities regarding the competition such as time frame, prize and where it would be launched.
