Officials informed MTNFootball.com that Turkey and Portugal have been proposed to prepare the Olympic team, better known as Dream Team V, for the final qualifying tournament for next year’s Olympic Games in London to be hosted by Egypt by the end of November.

However, Turkey is expected to get the final nod because it enjoys a similar weather to Egypt and also the training base of Antalya is expected to provide the team a chance to play several test games.

This year, Nigeria’s U20 team trained at Antalya as well as the Browns Sports Club near Faro, Portugal.

Olympic team coach Austin Eguavoen has asked for a long-term training camp for his team and he is also expected to tour Europe soon to monitor some of his players.

Nigeria will jostle with seven other countries for the top three automatic tickets to the London Olympics, while the fourth-placed team slug it out with a team from Asia for an extra slot.

The tournament, which will kick off on November 26, also has hosts Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Morocco and Senegal.
