Driver docked for allegedly defiling physically challenged girl

The police on Wednesday arraigned a 38-year-old driver before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old physically challenged girl.

Peter Edialu was charged with abduction, breach of peace and sexual assault.

Police prosecutor, Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offences were committed on January 31 at 12, Anuoluwapo St., Ogba, Lagos. 

He said the accused met the girl outside playing alone and lured her to an uncompleted building and molested her.

Ogu said that the accused attempted to escape when neighbours raised an alarm.

He said the neighbours caught him and handed him over to the police.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Chief Magistrate Taiwo Akanni admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Feb. 26 for mention. (NAN)
