A nongovernmental organisation, the development Research and Projects Center (dRPC) has commemorated the World Teachers’ Day with Teachers trained under the US Ambassador’s Teachers’ Development for Transition (TDT).
The centre, in a statement Thursday, said the event was funded by the US Ambassador’s small grant programme.
It said the event had provided a platform for the teachers trained under the US Ambassador’s TDT programme to share their experiences of skills learned with prominent stakeholders in the education sector in Kano State.
“The one day commemoration also aimed to showcase the experiences of 2019 graduates from government secondary schools who were currently running community based early childhood development centers in their homes,” it said.
“The gathering of government representatives and other stakeholders heard that Teacher Development for Transition (TDT) Project aims to improve the English Language competence of 100 SUBEB Grade 3 English teachers in the area of transition from Hausa to English in 10 government primary schools equally distributed within rural and urban areas in Kano State.
“Participants also learned about the dRPC- ECD project which empowered senior secondary school girl graduates providing them with support to establish self-financing community based ECDs,” it added.
