The Chairman of the chapter, Pharm Gidado Yusuf, said this at the association’s annual symposium and business summit with the theme: Drug Abuse in the Era of COVID-19: Roles of Pharmacists and Regulatory Agencies.

The association charged governments at state and local levels as well as private sector and entrepreneurs to look into this “very disturbing trend and chart a new course in this strategic area of human capital and national development.”

On his part, the commissioner of health, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Amina Musa, said the chaotic drug distribution pattern in the country was the major contributing factor in the rampant circulation of fake, substandard and unwholesome foods and abusive drug substances.
