Students have been asked to stay away from illicit drug because drug addiction can cause learning and memory problems.
The Chairman, Anti-Drug Misuse and Abuse Program (ADMAP) University of Benin, Isaac Ehimen, told the students of Fortune High Schools, Benin, during a drug abuse prevention campaign that substance or drug abuse could lead to health complications including learning problems. The campaign was organized by the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Student (PANS). Ehimen said the exercise was meant to reduce the prevailing rate of drug addicts in Edo State as well as discourage secondary school students from drug abuse.
